Kevin and I trekked up
Highway 1 last Friday to have a getaway weekend with Trish! Yay! The squid took part in a shooting competition in lovely Bakersfield on Saturday, and he zoomed up to join us on the coast Saturday night. We missed Miz Erin, who decided not to join us.

The folks on the beach were resting. The mating and fighting action takes place in the winter. These are juveniles soaking in the sunshine.

We drove the twisty road and enjoyed the sights. It was hard to decide which to gaze at: the beautiful cliffs or the beautiful ocean. I tried to gaze mostly at the road in front of us. Kevin was thankful for that!

We finally made it to Monterey by dinnertime. Trish used her amazing iPhone and a great app to find us yummy restaurants all weekend. On Saturday morning, Kevin went spear fishing in the bay and then met us at the
Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was mah-velous as usual! Here are some animals we saw!

On Sunday afternoon we rented kayaks and got out on the Bay. Beautiful! Kevin rented a paddle-board. It was his first time on one, and he did great. While we were on the water, we saw a lot of animals, furred and feathered. Kevin saw scaled ones down below the surface.

Because I have such a sucky internet connection, I had to compress the video in order to have the upload finish this year. Therefore, it isn't very good quality, not that it was great in the first place. But for what it is worth, here ya go.
