Our stateroom was much smaller than our suite last time, but it was still absolutely great! We had a king bed, a lower bunk, and an upper bunk. Kevin slept about half the nights out on the balcony.
Erin enjoyed her top bunk.
On Sunday we sailed off into windy seas. Our Coast Guard escort was much more enthusiastic this time, or maybe they were on meth. The boats zoomed fore and aft at high speeds, protecting us from evil.
Leaving Long Beach
My favorite part of the first day was sitting on the balcony enjoying the sunshine.
Here we are at sunset, waiting for our dining room to open for dinner.
Our table number was 196. This number is cool because it is the product of two squares. It is also the square of 14.
Monday and Tuesday were sea days. A cruise means relaxing, and since we had no place to go, we relaxed! Mike hit the gym. We played trivia (Go, Team Squid!), watched the ice sculpture guy, and laid out in the sun!
The finished ice sculpture
On Tuesday, Erin joined in a teen spa day, so Mike and I decided to do a spa treatment as well! We did a couple's salt rub and massage combo. Both our clinicians found big crunchies in our backs. We both need more massages!
We drank champagne on our balcony on Tuesday afternoon.
Tuesday night was the first formal night, as well as the Captain's party. Fun! Here we are at the Captain's party in the Taj Mahal.
Mike decided he'd like to try his hand at being a male model on Tuesday's Formal Night.

Great pix! I think Mikey looks like Bruce Willis. Woof!
My word verification was "davlsea." Coincidence? I think not.
Looks like a great time was had by all! Mikey, you should go for a new profession as model. You look great!
